The Fondation pour Recherches Médicales recently had the pleasure of welcoming photographer Melvin Pedrero Ruiz – Vibe Photography, who came to capture a series of photographs dedicated to La Tulipe and its distinctive architecture.
Through his lens, the building reveals the richness of its forms: the sculptural strength of concrete, the reflections and light effects on the glass façades, the geometric lines, and the brutalist aesthetic that make this landmark building in Geneva so unique.
His work highlights the graphic aesthetics of architecture through a careful exploration of perspectives, lines, geometric forms and plays of light.
The photographs created by Vibe Photography offer both an artistic and architectural perspective on a place historically dedicated to scientific research and biomedical innovation. They highlight the contrasts between material, transparency, and volume while emphasizing the building’s unique presence within Geneva’s urban landscape.
Designed between 1966 and 1972 by architect Jack Vicajee Bertoli, La Tulipe has been listed as part of Geneva’s heritage since October 5, 2015. Its distinctive architecture continues to attract architecture enthusiasts, artists, and photographers drawn to its strong visual identity.
The Fondation pour Recherches Médicales warmly thanks Melvin Pedrero Ruiz for his work and for sharing his perspective on La Tulipe.
