VENUS SHELL™ Reaches a Clinical Milestone

A Geneva-born innovation has reached a new milestone in its international development. VENUS SHELL™, developed by HeroSupport, a startup hosted at La Tulipe, is now part of a clinical study at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York.

A spin-out from the University of Geneva and Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), HeroSupport has developed VENUS SHELL™, a CE-marked, patient-specific, 3D-printed positioning device designed for prone breast radiotherapy.

The technology aims to improve patient positioning and comfort while supporting treatment precision. Its evaluation in a clinical study in New York therefore represents an important step in the clinical development and validation of this Geneva-based innovation.

The study is led by Prof. Naamit Gerber, Principal Investigator and co-director of the breast cancer disease management group at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center.

The Fondation pour Recherches Médicales warmly congratulates Giovanna Dipasquale and the entire HeroSupport team on this important achievement. We are particularly pleased to see an innovation developed within Geneva’s ecosystem progressing towards clinical application and gaining international reach.
