Vectopia shines among FIF grant winners

We are delighted to congratulate the three winners of the latest Fonds pour l’Innovation et le Futur de Genève (FIF) grants: POSICS, Geneva Connection Technologies, and Vectopia.

At the Fondation pour Recherches Médicales, we are particularly proud of Vectopia, led by Dr. Maude Rolland, which is hosted in-house. Vectopia is developing a groundbreaking approach to lentivector manufacturing for gene therapy, aiming to make life-saving treatments accessible to more patients. The FIF grant of CHF 50,000 will support the completion of a GMP gap analysis and the definition of the regulatory transition plan, laying the groundwork for clinical translation and broader patient access.

This achievement reflects not only the excellence of Vectopia’s team but also the vibrant innovation ecosystem at La Tulipe, where academic research and start-ups work together to bring biomedical discoveries closer to real-world applications.

Congratulations again to all three winners for their inspiring projects:

  • POSICS, a spin-off from the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Science, revolutionizing radio-guided cancer surgery with AR-enhanced cameras.
  • Geneva Connection Technologies, a CERN spin-off, developing high-precision interconnection technologies for next-generation detectors.
  • Vectopia, our in-house gene therapy spin-off, paving the way for the next generation of therapeutic vectors.
